You're My Favorite Chick! Sketches in Thyme

Howdy Blogging Friends!!
How is your week rolling along? We have the most
beautiful weather here in Dallas today!!!! I can't wait to get outside tomorrow and
work in the yard. So pretty out there.

Today I have a fabulous layout made with new Jillibean Soup and Amy Tangerine papers
that I got from The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie.
The colors on these papers were so pretty!!! Perfect for Easter!
I used my Cricut to cut the large design behind the photos. I then colored it with Inka Gold and spray inks. The strips down the center of the layout were punched with my Stampin' Up punch. I also used Maya Road zipper trim, Websters, ribbon, Bazzill, Tsukineko, and some other stuff from my stash.

I have used the fabulous sketch from Sketches in Thyme
I rotated it on it's side and then it kinda went from there. You know how that happens!!

I am also linking up over at Paper Issues = Easter Candy
Thanks so much for stopping by today.

my Fiskars punch, Spellbinders, Tattered Angels, Maya Road, Thickers, PowderPuff inks, Kaiser Kraft bling and some other stuff from my stash.  Sorry this pic is a little dark - the afternoon clouds were not
very helpful!!

Here is a look at the sketch
Really fun, right!

Leap Of Faith - MME

Is it Sunday already??? Where did the weekend go???
I think the weekend should be at least two days longer. Who agrees?
Maybe we should get a petition started.

Today I have a layout that I made for the My Minds Eye challenge from their blog.
The challenge was any choice of theme, along with the sketch they provided.
Here is the layout I made
I have used papers from the new Follow Your Heart line - I am so in love with these papers. The colors are ones that I scrap with all the time, pinks and teal blues. I cut the hexagon shapes from one piece of the line, I love how the prints coordinated with my theme on this layout!! I also used a little bit of K&Co and my Thickers for the title.

Here is the sketch they provided
Thanks to Anam Stubbington for providing the sketch!

Hope your upcoming week is fabulous and thanks for stopping by :o)

Egg Hunt - Fabulous Friday Frosted Designs

It is Friday - Do you have big plans?
I am so ready for the weekend!!
A little relaxing time for me - which means some time to scrap :o)

It is Friday which means that it is another Fabulous Fridays Challenge over
at Frosted Designs. This week the challenge is all about grids. I have chosen to use a masking
technique with spray ink to make my grid. Here is my layout
I have used the Sketchbook line of papers from Amy Tangerine. I have had the opportunity to
play around with these all week long, doing several projects and I am so in love with these papers!!!

I cut some scrap papers to size and used re-positional tape to hold them in place while I
sprayed the paper with ink. I decided I was not going to get to crazy over making my grid
exactly precise - I am trying to kick a few of my Type-A tendencies :o)
So I kinda lined them up and let it go at that!
I mounted my photos onto small pieces of chipboard to make them pop up a
little, then filled in the other spaces with small pieces of patterned papers.

I have also used Prima, Maya Road, Tsukineko and Thickers.
Be sure to hop over to Frosted Designs and join in on the fun.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a marvelous weekend!!!

Timeless Beauty

How can it be Wednesday already??? Time flies when you are
running behind doesn't it???? So much new paper and not nearly enough time :o)
Oh, what a nice problem to have!!!

Today I am showing off some beautiful new Bo Bunny paper that I got
from The Crafty Scrapper - there is so much new product coming in!!
I love the colors on this paper, I new I wanted to use black and white
photos with it so that the colors would shine.

How gorgeous is this paper?!?!?!? I need more of it. I also used Maya Road, Prima, Tim Holtz die,
Tsukineko Inks, Thinkers, some random lace, KaiserKraft bling, Inka-Gold and some stuff from my stash.
Since this layout is for someone else I have left the journaling blank.

I have used the great sketch from over at Stuck On U Sketches
Really cute, right? You have plenty of time to join in the fun.
Be sure to hop on over to get in on the action.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hope the rest of your week is fabulous!!

A New Card and ColourQ #129

Good morning blogging friends!!
Whew! We had super thunderstorms all night last night. We got so much
rain and we really needed it. My silly dog - the big 110lb black lab - is a fraidy cat though
and was pacing the bed all night long. He is so funny!!!

It is time for a new palette from ColourQ - this weeks colors are so spring like.
I did have a little bit of trouble with them though, because purples are the colors I tend
to stay away from. They are the ones I find hardest to work into my projects. I am getting
better though - thanks Arielle!!

I have used some Bazzill, K&Co, Prima, Basic Grey, my Fiskars scalloped heart punch,
my Sizzix square scalloped die, my sewing machine and some stuff from my stash. I did not have any Rich Razzleberry, so I used Purely Pomegranate instead.

All of my stamps - including this fabulous collage stamp are from Just For Fun Stamps
I have had the pleasure to work with this company for a couple of years and
their stamps are wonderful. They are all deeply etched red rubber - mounted or unmounted -
and they stamp a fabulous image. Give them a try, you will love them!!

Here is this weeks Palette - #129
Those cookies sure make me hungry!
Be sure to stop by the blog and see the creations made by the
wonderfully talented team - and play along with us off course!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful week!

Tattered Angels spray ink, my sewing machine, Tsukineko inks, Maya Road zipper trim, and the flower is Websters I believe. These papers are so happy and colorful - you will want some for sure!!

I have also used the sketch at Artful Delight - I really liked how it came together!
You still have a few more days to hop over and play along!!

Fabric Flower Tutorial

Today I have a really fun flower for you to make.
There are several steps to this - but they are all really easy and quick!

 [Warning! - Lots of photos :o) ]
Once you get going on these you can make a bunch of them in no time.
You need almost nothing to get started
I used my Sizzix circle die - but all you need is 3-4 circles any way you want to cut them.
some canvas, brads, ink pad, a nail file and a spray bottle of water.

Cut out your circles, I used my Cuttlebug and I usually cut 3 layers at a time
Take one of the circles and fold it in half
and fold it in half again,,,,,,
and keep folding it in half over and over until you get it as small
as you can. The smaller the top of it is the better the next steps will work.
Now you want to add color to the top edge with your ink pad.
I use pretty firm pressure here, you are going to loose some
of the color in the next step.
Now comes the sanding! You can use regular sanding paper for this step,
but I find it a lot easier to use a nail file instead. Be sure to get all the raw edges. The more
you sand the more distressed the edges will be. It is up to you.
When you are done, it will look something like this,,,
At this point you can add a little more ink if you want.
Now, you need to repeat for the other 3 circles.
I wanted to give mine a little more color, so I used a spray ink.
This is where the spray bottle of water comes in as well.
Getting the layers damp will let you shape them some. So give them a good
spritz then crumple them up.

Spread them back out a little, stack them up and use a brad to keep them all
together. A paper piercer is helpful to get a hole in the enter for the brad to
go thru. Or a Crop-A-Dile.
Once you get going, these are super easy to make. I made these 5 flowers in like10
minutes. Really. Two are canvas and 3 are paper. This is a great way to use up your
paper scraps. I Don't fold the paper ones up like the canvas circles,
just ink the edges, spritz with water and crumple.
I sprayed a couple of these with Tsuineko's Shimmer Spritz for a little sparkle.
I hope you give these a try! There are so many great ways
to play with this method.

Pretty Baby - Get Picky and Sketchabilities

Good Saturday morning blogging friends.
Ready for the weekend? I have almost nothing on my schedule,
prime scrapbook time I think :o) yippee!!!

Today I have a layout using the fabulous inspirations

I have used Pink Paisley, Maya Road, K&Co, Making Memories, Basic Grey,
spray ink, Inka Gold in Rose, some ribbons and lace, Fiskars punch, and some
some from my stash.

Here is the inspiration from Get Picky
Fabulous, right?
And, yes, I know I am supposed to be using multiple photos on my layout-
but I only had one of this event, and the photo was what I thought of when
I saw the inspiration, so I just went with it. It's art after all, right? :o)

And here is the fabby sketch from Sketchabilities
I thought it was really funny that I had almost the exact stamp that was used in the sketch.
This much mean I have too much stuff!

Be sure to hop around to these fabulous challenge blogs, there is some wonderful
inspiration to be had there! You still have time to enter both!!
Have a great weekend!

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of North Texas

Howdy fellow bloggers!
Once again this year I am
 Bowling For Kid's Sake
to benefit the
Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
One of my bestest friends has a son in this program - it has made all
the difference in the world to him.
His Big shows him how a man should act, that there is someone who cares for
him and there is someone who will be there for him.
His Big is a positive male role model in his life on a daily basis - as his real
father is no longer in the picture.

BBBS is a fabulous program that helps a lot of kids get a great
start in life - just by showing them that someone cares.
Won't you please help me help them?
Please join me in making a small contribution to this
wonderful program.
For more information and to make a donation please go HERE to
my Bowling Team's Page.
Thank you so much.
Together we can all make a difference in a child's life.
Thank you!

Movie Grab - ColourQ #127

Whew! I am back from vacation and trying to catch up!!!
We had a great time, I will post a few pics later when I get a chance to
sort thru them. The weather was perfect.
I didn't want to come home :o)

It is Tuesday, so I have my DT layout for ColourQ - Very fun colors this week.
I don't know how Arielle does it week after week!!

I have used Bazzill cardstock for this layout - and no patterned paper. Which is rare for me!!
The hearts were cut with my Spellbinders and embossed with my CB folders.
I then inked the tops for contrast. I have also used Prima, May Arts, Offray, Melissa Frances,
Ranger, Tsukineko, Basic Grey, and Memories Mist.
My adhesives where Helmar and my scotch tape runner.

Here is the fabulous colour palette this week
yummy!! Be sure to stop by the BLOG to see the fabulous
creations the other ladies from the Royal Court made. So much talent there!

I am also linking up over at Helmar USA for the February Sketch Challenge

Spring Flowers

Last year the Arboretum here in Dallas had a wonderful display of
Fairy Tale houses built by local construction firms.
They were very fantastical. They were set in the backdrop of the
fabulous spring display of flowers.

I don't remember who made this paper. I have had it a while! I have used Dusty Attic, Prima, Offray,
Fiskars, Maya Road, Tsukineko and Bazzill.
My chippie was colored with Inka Gold, then spray ink, then heat embossed with
Enamelz from Shimmers Paints.

So today is the last day of our cruise. I always am so busy on this day, trying
to get in all the things I haven't done on the ship yet!
We will dock tomorrow and then head home.
23 years DH and I have been married last month ~ time flies!

Thanks for hopping by today! I hope you are having a fabulous
weekend :o) I will be around to visit everyone's blog after I get unpacked and
get some sleep.

Everyday Happiness

Howdy Blogging Friends!
Is everyone having a great week so far?
I certainly hope I am. I should be headed for the Bahama Islands
right about now. Hopefully holding a drink that has a little
umbrella in my hand. Lying by the pool. :o)

So today my layout is about everyday happiness. If you are like me
you have a child who never lets you take a picture of her.
If you have followed my blog for long, you might have noticed that I post lots
of layouts of one DD and not many of the other DD. This is not because I like one
more than the other. It is because one will dodge a camera like a mouse
dodges a hawk. So I have way more pictures of one.
So I was pretty happy to get this photo of both of the kids together.
Not often that happens!

I have used Echo Park and Bazzill papers. My Fiskars punch and a Spellbinders die, some bling,
my sewing machine and Tsukineko inks.
I can't remember where these three were off too, but I was pretty happy
that they managed to slow down for 5 seconds so I could snap a photo.

Life moves so fast. I need them so slow down now and again.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.
I will be back next week and hop by everyone's blogs.
