Prom Night - Sparkle N Sprinkle

Hi everyone!
Wow, has it been a long time since I blogged!
What I have been doing :)

Today I want to share a layout from DD1s Senior Prom.
It seems like only yesterday, I swear.
Time is flying by these days!

I have used MME papers, Bazzill Cardstock, and lots of Sparkle N Sprinkle!
I also used Maya Road, Spellbinders, May Arts, and Tsukineko.
I started by heat embossing the entire background paper using a stencil,
VersaMark and Opaline EP.

I added some background stamps using #493 Silhouettes and StazOn Black.
My sentiments are from #528 Cinderellas Slipper.

I cut my title using my Cricut, cardstock and 2 1/2" Tear-ific-Tape,
then burnished it with Parisian Mist GL.

You know I love my glitter! So the photo mat is covered with Teal Velveteen, the fussy cut
paper is covered with Crystal Ice, and the stamped Swirls on the cardstock are heat embossed
with Blue Silver EP. How awesome is that Maya Road charm??

Here is a closer look at my background, and I also managed to squeeze in a little bit
of Silver Blue EP on the edge of punched paper :o)

Thanks sop much for stopping by today!

Best Friends- Crate Paper's Love Notes

Good afternoon blogging friends!

Today I want to share a layout I made using
a fabulous new line from Crate Paper- Love Notes
available at The Crafty Scrapper

This line is Valentine themed, but the colors are great for other events
as well, so I used mine for a layout about my DD2 and some friends she
made during her years at summer camp.

I think that this aqua color is going to be the color of the year- which makes
me SUPER happy! I used my Silhouette to cut the circles background and title.

I sprayed by base paper with Rangers Perfect Pearls - Turquoise.
My die cut paper was heat embossed with Magic Speckle.

The tag, and die cut chipboards are from Crate Paper. Seam binding is
from The Crafty Scrapper. The super shiny little charm in the corner of the pics
is from Maya Road- of course!

The transparency is American Crafts, all the other embellies are from Crate Paper.

To make my plain paper title stand out, I inked the edges, then smeared
the ink around quite a bit. Then I added some faux stitching around
the edges to define the letters using my PITT® Artist Pen.

roller stamp. They have 12 phrases on them in one little bitty stamp.
Run in and get yours quick!

A little bit of Maya Road, with some embossing powder and some ink.

Here is a close up of my punching. This MS punch set is one of my favorite!
My inks are Tsukineko VersaMagic, also my faves.

and you are in! You have until Friday January 31st to add your project

Summer Camp- Frosted Designs Love is in the Air Kit

Howdy to everyone in blog land!
It is Friday, yippee. Who has some great plans for the weekend?
I have some serious scrapping to do- and that will keep me inside
where it is WARM. Where is spring???

Today I have a project to share using Frosted Designs
January Kit- Love is in the Air. I am having so much fun with this kit!
With the new kits at Frosted Designs- you can choose the option you want!
Clean Fun or Messy Fun. Or BOTH!
Be sure to get your kit- I have made two layouts and have at least one more to go

So DD2 went to upstate New York summer 2012 to be a camp counselor.
She was the most popular girl at camp- she was over 21, which meant that she could drive
the camp's van and ferry the younger counselors into town on their days off.

I used the Amy Tangerine die-cut paper for my top layer. I punched out the letters, and put a piece of
PP that had been misted with Dylusions Bubblegum behind it. I added polka dots using
Gelatos® all around the page before adding my other embellishments.

I wanted a banner for under my photo, so I was looking around my desk and I spotted
the Ephemera pack and dug out some little bits and pieces, including the hearts, and used those.
I matted a die cut sticker on CS, cut a notch in the end, and used foam tape to pop it up.

I wanted some texture on the background, so I used some gel and a stencil, then sprinkled
the Ranger Distress Glitter on top while it was wet. Because the gel dries clear, it looks
almost like you used an embossing folder on it.

And BTW- how awesome is this macro photo out of my Sony a77???

I used the sketch at Use Your Stuff for my layout

I am also linking up at the following challenges:
Southern Girls - something NEW
Pixels and Paper - inspiration photo - kids playing in the water,
which is what this kid did all summer long, and got paid for it to boot!

Scrap Around The World- as soon as I saw the beaches on the mood board,
I thought of heather at this camp!

Thanks for stopping by today!

My Favorite Chipboard Projects- because we all know I love Chipboard!

Hey blogging buddies! Is everyone getting over the
post holiday slump?? Slowly but surely we are getting there.
I think. Maybe?? YES!

It's a new year, new things to do, new places to go.
(38 days until the Caribbean Crawl, Y'all !)

Here are my top 10 chipboard projects, in no particular order.

The Last Christmas for Frosted Designs
This photo is so special to me- one of the last with my Grandmother and myself together.

My Noel Christmas Banner for Faber-Castell® Design Memory Crafts
Too bad I don't have this banner to look at- DD1 swiped it the minute she
laid eyes on it. I need to raid her office, that is where all my banners end up!

Snapshots of a Good Life
This layout is fairly simple as my layouts go, but I rarely scrap with so little color, I almost
NEVER scrap with black/white and this is such a cute photo of DD1!
Isn't she sweet??? Yeah- then she grew up. Trust me on this one.

Chasing Seagulls
One of my all time favorite layouts- my silly daughter, the day before she
graduated college. We spent part of every summer in Galveston, TX on the beach and
every year she tried to catch a seagull. Well, she went to college for 4 years in
Galveston too (yeah, hard times, I know) and she chased seagulls the whole time.
She never gave up hope that she would catch that dang bird!
And that is the way she lives her life. Right now she is headed for
Dutch Harbor, AK- she flies out Wed , and from there she sets sail for
the middle of the Bering Sea. She will be out there for 3 months doing research.

A Love Beyond Measure
Soooo,, we told the kid not to obtain any pets while she was away at college.
You can see how well that worked.

Paradise at the Beach
The view from my beach chair- staring out at the ocean in Belize. Yep, paradise.

Road Trip Mini Album
I love to take plain ol' chipboard and make fabulous mini albums out of them. This
album was for my daughter and her friend - they were road trippin'.

I Adore You
See the kitty,,,,, yeah.

Vegas Baby!
Every trip to Vegas must include a visit to the Flamingo Hotel.
One day I will figure out how to kidnap these babies and bring them home
in my luggage. Just saying.

You Are Such A Joy
Alligator Dentist- do you remember that game? When our girls were young we had all these travel
games for them to play in the car- this was one of them. Somehow it ended up at my Mom's house
and it has become a tradition to play it there every time our family gets together. This is my
beloved Aunt, not long before she passed away. She was one of the happiest people
I have ever known in my life! This picture just shows her joy.

That's my top 10!
I have seen lots of lists going around this month.
What is your list?

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Aggie Rowing Crew - Frosted Designs

Hi everyone in blog land!
Are you ready for the week??
I am - 39 days until the Caribbean Crawl, Y'all!

Today I want  to share a project I made using
the Love is in The Air Kit available from Frosted Designs.

This kit is so awesome! Anything with glitter in it is right up my alley, and then
you add spray inks?? I need to have it!!

Here is a look at my project,,,,,

My DD2 was on the Rowing Crew during her days at Texas A&M Galveston, and
this photo is just one of those random pics taken on the road to a meet. somewhere.

The Teresa Collins papers and embellishments included in this month's kit
are great- I love these coral colors!!

I tried not to make the page too frilly, because they were on The Crew after all,
but I did manage to squeeze in some fun elements. The round elements you see where
punched from the back side of one of the papers. I layered the PPs and added a
layer of Bazzill cardstock in the middle.

Along the bottom of my page, I adhered the die cut numbers from the kit. Using the
stencil in the kit and Molding Paste from the Mixed Media Starter Kit  I added hearts
randomly over the numbers. When the paste was dry, I went back, and using the stencil again,
I sprayed with Lemon Zest Dylusions. I added a couple of light sprays of ink to the rest of the paper
while I was at it.

How cute are these little Camera Clips from Maya Road???? I layered die cuts from
the kit here, along with some ribbon. The arrow in the corner was punched from the back side
of one of the papers. The chipboard is Maya Road; I inked it white and sprayed with
Lemon Zest, blotting off the excess.

This "Life is Good" sticker is mounted on another chipboard from Maya Road, I had to
trim it just a tiny bit. I finished with Alphas and more die cut stickers from the kit.

Be sure to stop by the Frosted Designs Store to pick up a kit for yourself- these kits
have so much in them! I see two more projects coming out of mine this month!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful week :o)

Learning to Waltz - Sparkle N Sprinkle

Hi bloggin buddies! Today I have the promised layout that I previewed last week.
I have used the new stamp set Cinderellas Slipper from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Several years ago, during my daughter's Debutante Year, she and my husband had to take 8 weeks of waltz lessons. It really was the cutest thing! Because they were going to be waltzing in a big group, with their big white dresses on, they had to do all their practice sessions in their petticoats and high heels. So we had 19 Dads and 19 Debs on the floor which made for one great scrapbook opportunity for me!

Now, I should mention, that my daughter had the BIGGEST petticoat out of the group. The thing had to be custom made to go under her gown and it had 144 yards of tulle in the petticoat alone!! It would stand up by itself. Really.
I have used Maya Road for the title piece, and Websters for the pennant punch outs.

This little slipper from#528 Cinderella Slipper was perfect for my project. I stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed using Silver Lightning, then I colored with Pearlescent Liquid Acrylics and fussy cut.

To create my background, I cut cardstock using my electronic die cut machine, then randomly heat embossed using 4 embossing powders; Super Thick Clear, Super Thick White, Bahama Mama, and Princess Rose.

For my title piece I heat embossed both pieces using Detail Black and Ultra Thick White. The vine is heat embossed using Spring Willow and Mojito, the bird is heat embossed with Silver Lightning.

Here is a close up of the embossing on the vine and the background.

A look at my sweet baby with her ginormous petticoat. With the dress on over it, because of course the dress had to have about 40 layers of tulle too, her dress measured FIVE FEET ACROSS - no kidding. A true Southern Belle right there, y'all!
